The Simpsons Stick ems

The Simpsons Stick ’ems are weird little rubber figures with suction cups on the back, released in September 2009 to celebrate the show’s 20th anniversary. They could apparently be used to play some half-assed Jacks-style game, but I doubt anybody ever did.

One was available each day for sixteen days with the purchase of an Overlord Murdoch – I mean, News Corp Australia – newspaper. That’s the Herald Sun in Victoria, The Courier-Mail in Queensland, etc. I’m not sure if they were ever available outside Australia.

Along with the basic set (pictured above), there were also rare, special edition versions of each: the six family members (including Grampa) came in a pseudo-gold variant, while the other ten had glow-in-the-dark versions. Those are pictured below, but I’m still missing a few of them.

Itchy & Scratchy “Spay Anything” McFarlane box set

Line: McFarlane Box Sets
Year: 2007

Simpsons Itchy and Scratchy McFarlane box set Spay AnythingThe McFarlane Box Sets, highly detailed recreations of classic scenes from Simpsons episodes, will crop up in a lot of collections, although usually still in the boxes. As I’ve said, I don’t collect boxes, and a series that looks this good deserves to be observed without the plastic covering.

This one features Itchy & Scratchy as seen in their cartoon “Spay Anything”, from the fifth season Simpsons episode “Cape Feare”. It’s probably the most iconic moment from an Itchy & Scratchy episode that could have been chosen to be immortalized in plastic.

The Simpsons TV Time Hallmark keepsake

Despite the piece having nothing to do with Christmas, Hallmark released TV Time as a Christmas ornament in the US and Canada in 2008. I’m not sure if it was a one-off thing, or if there were more, but I haven’t been able to find any others.

When a button on the side is pressed, the TV lights up and the Itchy & Scratchy theme plays. Well, it’s supposed to. Mine doesn’t work, for some reason.
